Dr. Mortimer J. Hourihane

Dr. Mortimer J. Hourihane, 81, passed away Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Hosptial. He was born February 18, 1936 in Dublin, Ireland to the late Mortimer and Marcella McGuaarey Hourihane. Dr. Hourihane was retired as an OBGYN after 40 years of practice in New Haven, CT. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church and was a volunteer for Faith in Practice.

He is survived by his daughter, Kiernan Hourihane, his wife, Denise P. Hourihane, his granddog, Sawyer, all of Savannah, two sisters in Ireland, and one brother and one sister in England.

A Memorial Mass will be held Monday, February 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church, Savannah, GA.

Remembrances may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Humane Society of Greater Savannah.

My sincere condolences to the family, during this difficult time please take time to read an encouraging scripture found at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4. Particularly in verse 4 we are told that our father in heaven will comfort us in all our trials an help us to endure. The same applies to losing a loved one in death, He will help us get through it.
